Hinza Berhe, LMFT

Hiza Hinza Berhe, LMFT is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT 132681) with over ten years of experience in working with teens and adults in San Diego, CA. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from San Diego State University (SDSU) in 2013 and his Master of Arts in Marriage and Family therapy from Bethel Seminary in 2020.

From Hinza's perspective, life is unpredictable and no matter how hard we try there will be situations that are out of our control. Although some preparation can help, which is what he aims to focus on in therapy sessions. Sure, there may be times that we are just hit with bad luck, though he finds that some of the difficulties we are faced with do link to our past. Born from immigrant parents who were separated from their families, Hinza began learning the value of cultivating a strong support network early on and its impact on one's cognitive and emotional development. The work in maintaining healthy relationships with others is continuous, and he would like to help process those connections that are meaningful to you as you dive into the stressors that influence your life.

Hinza enters each therapeutic relationship with a client-centered approach and uses his training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Family Systems, Trauma Informed Care, and Play Therapy to offer various viewpoints to help you reach your desired goals. Hinza's experience consists of working with children, teens, young adults, and parents. Having worked with diverse ethnic populations in various settings ranging in age and need, he aims to cultivate a space that embraces your cultural background and experiences while simultaneously allows you to explore the unique circumstances that bring you into session.
